Why Bulldogs?

Bulldogs in the Kitchen has been an ongoing dance with culinary adventures since 2016. It has looked like a recipe blog, it has yearned to spotlight and amplify small makers and chefs doing great work. While both of those aspirations are noble, neither were the right fit for the team at BDITK. At the end of the day, what we love about food isn’t perfecting the recipe (who actually follows those anyways) or the execution of an illustrious dish in an exclusive setting (though, yes, we'd love to be your +1 wherever you're going), rather it is cooking and dining as an act of connection and expression of love.

Bulldogs in the Kitchen is instead a celebration of the time spent in the kitchen and around the table. We have carefully curated tools and your tableside canvases so that your acts of culinary affection for those in your life feel effortless and unforgettable. 

In a world wrought with excess, we strive to curate the essential with none of the clutter, keeping your workspace and your mind stress free. Our collection blends new staples with vintage icons in an effort to reduce, reuse and celebrate pieces that still have so much life in them. That said, there are pieces in our collection that aren't what you would consider a basic essential. Rather they are so indulgent, so unique, so storied that the “extra” becomes an essential. The best kitchens and tablescapes are collected over time with intention and an eye to what uniquely helps express your love in the kitchen.

So of all the people or things we could feature in the kitchen, why bulldogs? 

For Founder & Editor-In-Chief, Alex Graves, bulldogs in her kitchen are the epitome of home. For you, that special companion or mentor in the kitchen may be a parent, grandparent, or sibling. For us, bulldogs - either asleep at our feet or seated at the table with their jowls on their place setting - is what makes a house a home and ultimately embodies the life force behind Bulldogs in the Kitchen.
